INFORMATION ABOUT THE VISIT TO THE PERLAN MUSEUM AND THE WONDERS OF ICELAND

The first exhibition of the Perlan Museum, "Glaciers and Ice", opened in the summer of 2017 and is integrated into one of the six hot water tanks that make up Perlan. It started with an ice cave that has been built inside the building, the first of its kind in the world and where you can experience the same sounds, smells and all the cold as in an ice cave inside a glacier, as well as learning about its ash layers and deep, dark cracks.

In addition to this incredible exhibition, the section "Wonders of Iceland" includes an exhibition on the forces of nature, where you can see, hear and feel the power of volcanoes and earthquakes, discover the tectonic plates and get to know in depth the geothermal energy and its importance in Iceland. In addition, you will be able to see the sculpture of the cliff of Látrabjarg and through the use of augmented reality, discover the underwater treasures of Iceland through a unique cinema screening.

Finally, you can't miss the fourth floor, where you will find a large observation deck with an incredible 360-degree view of all of Reykjavík and the surrounding area. Thanks to the information posters, you will be able to point out the sights on the horizon, from the Keilir volcano on the Reykjanes peninsula to the famous glacier Snæfellsjökull. In addition, you can gaze upon Esja, the mountain of Reykjavík, in all its splendor.
